Rare Classic - Where to find rare classic parts?

As per the heading, can anyone help with this?

I'm looking for a windscreen for a '68 Datsun Fairlady 1600 roadster!

I can normally find German stuff, and i've asked a few sellers on overseas Ebay, but haven't found one yet.

Any suggestions on where to look, or any specialist parts suppliers out there?

Have you spoke to Pilkington? They manufacture a large number of classic car windscreens. If it's not readily available they can make one-offs and small batches copied from an original + their parent company just happens to be Nippon Sheet Glass, HQ'd in Tokyo.

Try Datman (Will) down in East Grinstead. I'd be suprised if he couldn't track you one.

Or Ratdat (Eddie) up in Louth,nwhy is the font of all knowledge on 60-70's Datsuns.

I'd second a call to Pilkington. I was most surprised that they still made windscreens for an XKSS, given that only 16 originals were made. And available to boot! I emphasise I have no idea about the Datsun, but I wish you well in saving this obscure survivor.

If they made them once, they'd have kept the tooling.

I got a windscreen from URO in Bromsgrove, though it was a Pilkington screen when it turned up. This was before Pilkington were advertising their classic service, so I'm not sure if URO have more than one supplier.

Bidjdm gets you on the Japanese auction site Yahoo (ebay for jp) you will find one there, use chassis codes to find what you need.
