XK engine numbers
Discussion
I've finally remembered to formally tell the DVLA about my engine swap. I'd written to them at the time and didn't get a response. Obviously they need the engine number.

Looking at the normally excellent guide to XK engine numbers http://www.jag-lovers.org/xk-lovers/library/engine...
it suggests that there should be an S at the end of an 8Lxxxxx number.
Has anyone got an XJ6 with an 8L number? Do they always have an S at the end. Do I need to search further around that flange to find the bit I can't see?
Cheers

I've just checked my reference notes and can't find any 8L engines with an 'S' suffix. And can't recall an 'S' on any of the 8L engines I've rebuilt. For ref' from Dave Pollard's book...
