What colour is acceptable for racing roundels on a white car?

Normally black but often seen in a colour matching the wheels (or roof if contrasting).

Saw a very swank Lotus Elite at Goodwood with white body, silver wheels and roundels and black numbers.

I would automatically say black, but a very dark blue, red or green could work especially if the colour ties into another aspect of the car such as the wheels or interior.
