I am considering buying an XK150. Does anyone out there know if it's possible to fit seat belts to these cars. Frowned upon by purists I suspect but I think it makes sense!

Yes, it is. It's possible to fit belts to anything. Choose carefully and you can get something that looks in-period but will save your neck in the event of the unthinkable. I might be inclined to go with 4 point racing harnesses, they look the part and inconvenience of wrestling your way in and out is offset by the sense of occasion when you get in. It's not as if you are pottering off to the shops in it after all.

I bought an XK150 FHC 10 years ago and had seat belts fitted front and rear, it's quite possible. The work was done by Quick Fit (not the tyre people) and I was very happy with the work they did. There was a threat a couple of weeks back about fitting seat belts into an MGA which has the details.

Enjoy the XK, they're wonderful toys to play with and more than capable of keeping up with modern traffic conditions.

I just ordered some inertia belts for my E-Type coupe from Quickfit belts. They aren't exactly cheap, and delivery is 8 weeks, but they are very helpful and seem to know exactly what they're talking about.
