Quilted under bonnet material

I've spent far too much time this evening searching the web for a supplier of that quilted black vinyl material you see lining the bonnet of many 'up market' cars from the '60s as shown below.



I can now point anyone interested in the direction of several manufacturers of aircraft engine covers and have unwittingly become an expert in the supply of Thomas the Tank Engine bedding, but I've not got anywhere close to what I was looking for!!

Please could anyone who has bought some of this let me in on the closely guarded secret of where it comes from! It would be very much appreciated.

I'd have thought that the sort of thing your local trim shop would make up, rather than being available already quilted.
