Wanted - Classic Honda Civic Mk 1
Discussion
First post and I couldn't see an introduction section so apologies if I have transgressed any rules on that front.
I'm looking to buy a second car as a bit of an occasional run around aside from the family chariot.
I'd like a classic, hopefully the MK1 Civic qualifies.
I am normally a motorbike man, but I have owned Honda cars for the last 27 years, interspersed with a Cortina, Renault 18, and Triumph Acclaim; probably others but thats what I can remember.
Of the Civics I have owned three, 2 MK2s and and a Mk4 I always had a soft spot for them, perhaps because they took me everywhere in my (old) young free and single days of cheap self-service/repair motoring. The Mk1 though I have always particularly liked the look of, and what I am chasing now.
From looking around the internet they do seem rather rare perhaps the rust they always suffered from claiming them; they did my Mk2s thought the 4 lasted better.
Reasonable condition, roadworthy or very near to, and preferably manual are the main criteria.
So if anybody has knows of/owns/seen something languishing in the back of a garage would you mind dropping me as line? Distance not an object I can always arrange transport.
I have seen the two on carandclassic but I am hoping for something in better condition.
Many thanks for getting this far in the rambling, and appreciate any help.
