I once got a speeding ticket in an old Rover 90, the policeman seemed quite impressed as he nicked me.
It gave me a strange sense of pride so I can understand where the OP is coming from
I've been stopped twice on a push bike.It gave me a strange sense of pride so I can understand where the OP is coming from

First time I'd overtaken the police car while going down a long hill.
The second time was on Park Lane which has (or had) a 40 limit.
Neither time did I get a ticket :-)
Back 'in the day' my company rep's car was a 1.6 L Sierra automatic. This had only been introduced a few months earlier and most other reps at the time went for the Cavalier 1.6L. There was always the argument amongst fellow reps which car was the faster, and the general belief was that it was the Cavalier. Not so it seemed. I was caught in a speed trap on the A12 and recorded at a speed of between 103-105 mph which was only 3 or 4 mph lower than the speedo indicated. Oddly I had actually slowed down and was previously travelling at an indicated 110 mph plus. Was kind of proud of getting a driving ban for speeding (if only for 7 days) but the fine and costs didn't go down well at home. £135 in 1982!
