Finding My old E Type
Discussion
I tried to get my old bug info from DVLA, filled in vehicle details form giving my information from when i used to own it, stating i hoped to track it down to attempt to get it back etc. Got letter back saying although they could see i was previous owner and understood my reasons they were unable to give out the info for these reasons.
Michael, why not contact both JDC and JEC directly. May be not hinting you'd like to buy the car, but to at least be able to see the car which in turn gives the opportunity to strike up a good rapport with the current owner...and then a gentle hint to them, 'if ever you'd like to sell the car I'd be happy to buy...'
i guess you've also looked here www.xkedata.com/owners/

When I wanted to find my Dads old Frogeye Sprite I signed up to every owners site I could find and posted up the registration - It took about 3 days to find it, it's amazing how word gets around communities if you put the feelers out. Hopefully being an E-Type someone will know, someone, who knows someone, who is in one of the owners clubs and you'll locate it...
Whether or not they'll sell it back is another thing!

Try posting your question on here, lots of good info on this site and include details of car etc. so we can check against club books etc.

Have you tried www.xkedata.com?
Just use the search engine with your reg or vin number. The 3 etypes familiar to my family were all logged on there with some good pictures.
Good luck

It would help if some details of the E-type were posted. Year of manufacture, model, previous colour and registration, where it was sold and when, maybe disclose a small part of the chassis number if known. Lots of E-type spotters on PH who would like to help, myself included, but need something to go on. Would be great if you found your old car :-)
The only details I have of the car are the colours and registration number.
It's a series 1.5 fhc and when I owned it, it had a series 1 bonnet fitted
Opalescent light blue with red interior.
Registration PEG 312G
Sold 30 years ago. Divorce forced sale.
