Anyone here a fan of the "Pro Touring" look?

Mostly an American thing it seems, although I've seen various classics from many countries.

I can't say I like them all, after all cars with what look like broken suspension will forever look crap, no matter how much money it might have cost to make it look like that.

And I do like things well proportioned.


Oddly I actually love the old school fat tyre look, but it's hard to achieve these days with such a lack of tyres like that to choose from. And some of these pro touring cars look the muts nuts.

Nope. Need higher profile tyres to appeal to me. Classics with rubber band tyres just look wrong.

Sorry but... despite being into hot rods etc., not a fan. Can't beat a set of 15" Americans with white lettered Cooper Cobras or similar on pretty much anything from the 1960s... each to their own tho' (most folk wouldn't have 15" Wolfies on their 1930s Austin, ahem!).

I agree, although maybe my tastes are changing. Plus in the UK getting such tyres is a complete PITA.

On my TR7 I used to run fat 225/50R15's because I liked the look. But now you can't by that size, or only in really rubbish brands/treads and for vast amounts of money.

I've got 255/60R15's. They are sold as 4x4 tyres mostly in the UK, but not all rubbish brands.

They are out there (Cooper, B F Goodrich, Avon, etc.) but, as already said, often at much higher prices than lower profile stuff.
