Hi all

Looking to do some restoration on my 1956 Lotus Eleven. One area which needs sorting for aesthetic reasons in the suspension. Currently it's running modern SPAX adjustable coilovers but originally the car was fitted with Girling coilovers. After a couple of years Lotus swapped to Armstrong units but these were never factory fitted to Elevens.

Does anyone out there have access to a Girling catalogue covering the 56 period which also lists the part numbers used by Lotus? It's a long shot but knowing the correct part numbers would start the search to find some. The club has given me the Armstrong part numbers but I'd like to go truly original.

Perhaps someone might know a good restorer who might have this info, it's worth a phone call, and they might even have the correct units.

I'm open to any sensible suggestions

Thanks in advance

Jon Adams

This might get you the part number at least, which would be a start.

Hi there

I've got that download but it only lists road cars, nothing about supplying race cars, perhaps they didn't include that as the catalog is dated 1973.

The Armstrong catalog makes fascinating reading as it lists all the racing cars they supplied, but not the Eleven!

Thanks for the idea
