Looking at the 280SE 4.5, I can remember that this was a US model, but can't remember what the engine was - I have a feeling it wasn't the 4.5 litre V8 that you would expect. Can anyone enlighten me please?

BTW the 300SEL 6.3 is such a cool car in a completely bonkers sort of way! It would be on my 'itch' list if I was braver (along with an SM).
