Hi
Help please any D-Jetronic experts -

My old Merc has just developed this fault . It starts fine and runs and accelerates smoothly for the first 10 minutes of running . Then it starts to run really rough , and if you don't blip the throttle it just conks out .
If you do blip the throttle it keeps running but really roughly . Also there is a strong smell of unburned fuel from the exhaust .

I've checked all hoses and wires and all seem ok .

Any ideas please ?

Check the rotor arm and distributor, from previous experience, if these are worn it can cause poor running.

I'd also add condensor and plug leads to that list. Sounds like something electrical breaking down under heat. Especially if the symptoms are repeatable and consistent.

Check....fuel pressure..... cold start valve...auxiliary air valve and aux trigger points ( these are low down in the distributor and "trigger" the injectors...

I'd echo the electrical side of things first.
