What car did I see?

I know you guys love finding out "what car" from a description, so please try to help me with this one.

Last night I passed a beautiful 60's car on the M40 (going towards London). To me it looked like a 2-door Bristol 411 (big, very long bonnet especially long front wings, behind the front wheels to the door, with a chrome strip going from the top of the front wheel arch back to the front door). A bit like this one.


However it only had one set of front lights (no fogs/full beam light in the grill), a large plan grill, with chromework coming off the centre of the bonnet front and going backwards. Plus the rear lights were small and round, at the top of the rear wings. It also had twin exhausts (one either side) and two overiders on the front and rear bumpers.

Any ideas? I couldn't see any name on it, only a small badge on the front wings, but I couldn't make it out.

I want to say Alvis TD21, but some of the details don't match.

That was my thought too, except they didn't have a chrome side-strip. Round rear lights would suggest Warwick or Peerless GT, but most likely it was an earlier Bristol as I can't think of anything else which has a chrome side strip from the 1960s other that the Volvo P1800, but that doesn't look much like the Bristol

Thanks guys. It was a very similar shape to the Warwick and Peerless GT, but that's not it, it had a larger front grill (more ala Aston Martin DB5, that kind of shape). Defo not the Volvo P1800.

I have found it! It was a DB2, very much like this one. At least now I KNOW I can't afford one!! It looked lovely. Thanks again for your help.
