Hi all. I know this is a long shot but my dad and his partner are getting married next year. I am looking for somebody local to the Scottish border who has a nice car that would be willing to drive the bridesmaids and then the bride to the ceremony. ( 10 mins away )
I just thought I'd ask as the quotes are quite expensive for the short amount of time it's required.

A lot of that is because people that hire classics or vintage cars (or modern limos for that matter) will (or should) have specific insurance to cover them when used for hire or reward, and obviously pass on some of the cost.Have you tried any local classic car clubs, rather than starting national? We get emails from time to time asking whether people do stuff like this.

Many of us with old cars have yet to understand what a bridal couple, who have no connection with our pastime, get from using out of date transport! What's more, white seems the car colour of choice, despite it being unsuitable as a background to photos of the white-clad bride.
In the 1980s I did the business for a good friend's daughter and ten years later when her brother asked if I'd turn out for his wedding I was able to point out that his sister's marriage hadn't lasted long so perhaps . . .
He and his bride chose to ignore my warning so I did what was wanted - and it gives me no pleasure to report that that marriage didn't last long either.

Not sure what you expected - you want somebody to give up a day to wash & prep a car, drive to see a total stranger, ferry some people around & drive back home again, all with no financial recompense for petrol, time, valeting, etc.?
Favour for a mate or long time fellow forum user, maybe, but you might as well flag down the next nice car you see and ask if they'll do it! Do you not think it's a bit cheeky?

That would work for me every time! Good possible reason for a valet of the car after the (blow) job?
I am at the other end of the land in SE Kent, I sometimes drive cars for a friend for weddings and proms etc .
The classics are getting more and more popular.
The Rover 3ltr is the most popular ,he also has a mk2 Zephyr, E type 2+2 ,Bentley Mullsanne and an XJ6 . None of the cars are white .
