Another What Car. Please help.

Any idea what this may be? Picture taken in the ruins of a former Greek factory apparently. Pretty sure I've never seen anything like it.

Very strange. It's American and a station wagon.
The top half if very AMC pacer...

Yes, bottom half looks familiar but the top doesn't.

It's Pacer eee, but that's all. Pacer has nicely curved bodywork and rear window is rectangular, this is not. 'Looks' American, but I am not so sure.

European, French perhaps? By the interior (well, the door trim on left) I'd say 1980s.

I have just blown the pic up and all that dangly stuff at the rear, it looks like tons of rope and inside the car.

Greek fisherman's car at one time?

Only thing it definitely isn't, is British!

Oh yes, It is quite Pacery. Some good ads in that catalogue.

The only bit I do recognize, bumper/back lights does look late 60s early 70s Yank stuff to me.

An abandoned hearse parked in the destroyed John Phil carpet factory Greece.

I'm thinking a conversion on around 1976/77 Plymouth fury sedan or similar???
The original boot has been welded in place. Pacer back end dropped on top. This makes a nice opening for the coffin to be pushed in and out of.

If it is a hearse, then will probably be a special.

GM did a similar thing in the 60s and 70s on their Statio. Either the back window would go inside or the window and the tailgate. Olds, Chevy, Pontiac all did versions. Clamshell or auto tailgate it was called.

If you google Greek Hearse, the pic comes up in the first row of 'images'. So someone must think it's a hearse?

I have just noticed (rh bottom right on the ground) what looks like a aftermarket muffler (exhaust).
I am now definitely thinking that this is a modified car, but what, who knows?

Guessing..Those back lights are 1973 or thereabouts Buick Centurion. The top half is very typical of greek hearses.

So...a 1973 Buick Centurion hearse coachbuilt in Greece.

MP you need to take less sugar with it next time! Mind you, yesterday I was googling for images of Porsches and found one of a Boxster with the driver's head ripped clean off. Not nice.

Bottom half reminds me of the Citroen Carmargue concept car. Just tried to load a pic via photobucket but it's playing silly buggers again.

Yes. The first car have the same bottom half as the car in the OP. The top is of course a modification by either a private person or a coachbuilder.

It's either a sedan or a coupe as the station wagon have a different rear end which can be seen above.

I did wonder if it was a pick up that had a roof put on the back. Did they do one of those?
