What Classic car
Discussion
Hi all
Sorry sure its been done many times but looking for collective experiences.
I now live in NSW, Australia but working in Kuwait. Want to treat my self to a classic that i can import into Oz as my long term hobby car. Looking to spend up to GBP20K. Car must be body wise A1 as that's not my area. happy to look at mechanical upgrades but car must be a runner.
I'm 1965 vintage and 6'4" so size an important factor. Looking for sports car/coupe was thinking of Frogeye Sprite but it might be to small.
If you've got something for sale or know someone happy to review.
Have love of Porsche but boat sailed long ago on reasonable prices for those. Oh 1 thing must be pre 1989.

You won't fit in a Frogeye. I struggle at 6 foot!
Loads to choose from at £20K. suggest a trawl through Ebay etc.
I have a Capri Mk3 with a small block Chevy in it. Immaculate.
I would always go for a Lotus. Decent Esprit for that dosh. Or do what I did and buy a good Excel and use the change to fit a Lexus V8.

Hi that's was my worry. A nice Capri like a 3000 or last of the 2.8i Special would be nice. Had an Elan Sprint about 12 years ago and to be honest it was a bag of sLoads to choose from at £20K. suggest a trawl through Ebay etc.

Would you not be better buying a classic out there in Oz? The body would likely to be in much better condition. There are loads of classic dealers on the Parramatta Road in Sydney.
In theory yes but cars are a bomb here price wise and have issues which means better to buy and ship rather than move money to Oz and buy if you know what i mean Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
