Italian Job FHC E-Type

I'm curious to know what colour is (or was) the series 1 fixed-head coupe E-Type that is bulldozed in the Italian Job?. Sounds like a silly question, but the reason I ask is because when I recorded it from a TV airing last year (in HD), it included an audio language (for hard of hearing). As I stumbled upon this by accident I thought I'd have a listen, and whilst I was listening to the narration of the scene, I was surprised that the voice-over describes the FHC E-Type as a dark blue car. I thought that was odd because that particular E-Type (from various sources) as often been described as being black in colour. To me though I've always felt it was a very dark blue colour rather than black as it does appear blue-ish in certain scenes. Maybe the audio description got it wrong or that it does appear to look blue due to the film stock and colour/saturation of the film.

860277 is known to the JDC but is noted as signal red. All info gratefully appreciated on the rebuild and other details.
ETA I assume that everyone knows that the roadster, 848 CRY, was originally registered 2 BBC and belonged to Robin Sturgess of Leicester. Chassis 850012, it was much raced and reregistered when sold. It now belongs to Philip Porter.

I once spoke to a guy on the production team of the Italian Job, as did a guy who wrote a book about it. Both E Types were left in Italy as scrap, as were a number of Minis. The three Minis that went over the cliff were not the Cooper S's used in the film, but old 850 chod bought from used car lots.
