Hi,
Hoping the PH collective can help

A frien has a photo of their great great grandfather in this car. They think it's 1911, but would like to identify the car. Unfortunately the registration is not clear, but we think it starts DB 7???
I wondered if anyone could assist with any info
We think it's a model 72 'runabout' or sports

A good friend and Stanley expert says:

It's probably a 10hp Stanley model 63 and the date would be 1910 or '11. DB is a Stockport reg number. The car would have been purchased via the English Stanley distributors W. E Galloway in Newcastle who were in business selling Stanleys from 1905 until the end of the First World War. They sold around 1 a month so fewer than 200 Stanleys were imported - they did make their own body in a small number of instances. There are 2 Galloway bodied cars still around, a 1911 and a '12

Photo is taken n Stockport, Edgeley in fact, and there are two Union Flags above the headlamps, so the thought is 1911, and probably on the way to some event celebrating the Coronation.
My friends would like to think the car may still exist .....

Slightly off topic,but I posted a while back a photo of a 'boat tail' Rolls Royce - they used the car for their wedding.
