eBay competition to restore your older than 1977 car

Just noticed this on eBay.

A competition to win £4k to spend on eBay on parts to restore your old car. I don't have a car that old that needs restoring but thought it maybe useful for someone on here to get some posts up on the readers rides section and a kick in the backside should they win .

Hmmm...... Some of the T/c's ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/eBay-Car-Challenge-2017-... ) include:

Entries must be in by 23:59:59 19th February (tomorrow).

You must have a UK ebay account with a minimum of 90% positive feedback.

If you have an excessive amount of endorsements and offences against you (as determined by ebay) then you cannot participate.

The prize is for £4000 worth of parts and accessories that must be bought off ebay (There is a possibility to buy parts/accessories from places other than ebay, but only if ebay say you can [I can only assume that's based on a critical part being required that is not available on ebay] ).

Your project must be completed by 10th July 2017.

You must carry out the restoration yourself. Help from friends and family is allowed, but you are not allowed to use any professional help or services (unless the Law demands it).


So the competition is not quite so clear cut as it first appears!

Seems a bit of an arse, but may help someone on here. I'd enter if I was in that situation, I wouldn't expect to complete a restoration that quickly though unless I already had a shell prepared and just needed the parts.

A guy local to us won it last time around, he's the chap on the left with the Austin 1100. It was quite a tidy one before he won the money, it looks really nice now..
