Now which would you choose.

His chosen quartet are:

Rolls-Royce Camargue
Aston Martin DBS V8
Sunbeam Tiger
Ferrari Daytona

“The Rolls-Royce Camargue is one of the very few classics that hasn’t mushroomed in price. The looks might be contentious but it’s the best value bespoke RR by a monster margin...

The early DBS V8, on the other hand, is the forgotten Aston. We can cure all its fuel injection glitches now and with only 405 built it’s rarer, and much cheaper, than a DB5,” said Willson.

“Daytonas have levelled off and there are 20 on the market just in the UK right now. Now could be the time to use an oversupplied market to your advantage. Ferrari’s sexiest ‘70s icon will only go up again.”

“The best car Rootes ever made is still undervalued, rare and hugely special. Americans are selling good Tigers for $120k but here you can still buy one for less than £50k. They won’t be that money for much longer though,” he added.

What does "sleeper classic" actually mean?

Edit to add – I can't even find what a Daytona costs, it's all POA. What's a Daytona now? (When a cheap old 365GTC is £300,000-odd.)

I'm guessing the Camargue. Not sure the others can be described as sleepers but he's maybe hoping to boost the RR price by associating them with the others.

Pistonheads classified are showing some Daytona's with prices ( http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/f... ) :

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/f... £639,850

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/f... £699,995

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/f... £564,950

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/f... $795,000 (@£638,000)

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/f... $750,000 (@£602,000)

The Ferrari 365/GTB/GTS series is a well known, sought after classic car that has already gained in value massively in recent years, so it is hardly a "sleeper".

Quentin sold his e type three years ago for £203k, I wonder what he thinks of that now.

Since anything more than a few decades old is called a Classic, surely a Type 2 Volkswagen is a true Sleeper Classic?

All this crystal ball stuff, did anyone see the rise in value of Fords like Capri's and standard MK 1 Escort's happening this time around? I know I didn't and the last classic car boom of the late 80s I'm sure they never went up much.

Weird selection - it's been an awful long time since any Daytona was a sleeper!

And as someone said, his judgement is pretty poor given his sale of his E-type. laugh

I'd look for anything he didn't endorse! idea

Not that I'm a fan of his, but to be fair he does explain why the Ferrari is a sleeper just now.

He probably made in excess of £100k profit on his E Type and bought it at a time when they were "sleepers" for a very low price.

Overall I'd tend to agree with his choices. The Camargue being the most risky IMHO. Time will tell.

I must admit I've always thought the Capri would eventually get recognised. But the Escort thing – weird.

The standard Escort rise is obviously due to the prices of the Sporting models being so high and dragging them up too.

A bit like high rising Ferrari prices dragging up the hideous Mondial and 348

Daytonas have gone from £200k to £600k+ in the last few years. Is he saying there's a lot more upside?
