Anyone recognise these 80's wheels?

Pretty sure these 13" pepper pots are from the 80's, and have just been unearthed at the garage.

They're marked as GKNs, so probably not standard fit on anything. As you can see, they have a four-stud fitment, but no centre caps.

I've not seen any quite like this, have you?

My first thought was Jaguar XJS, but they are five-stud

GKN could easily be OEM on Austin-Rover stuff, and they certainly LOOK similar to Jag "Pepperpot", but not 13"/4-stud.



What's the width, PCD, offset, centre bore etc?

I saw on an old Compomotive Wheels brochure that they did replica Jag pepper pots, I wonder if they did them in 4 stud as well as 5?

Look like late Talbot Alpine/Solara and would have had a full centre cap.
From memory would be 5 or 5 1/2 inch wide.

For sale, 1x set of Talbot Solara wheels! I guess the market may be quite narrow on this one....

Some or all Metros had metric wheels - I remember a tyre fitter saying that people would come in for a tyres for their cheap Metro and be shocked how expensive the tyres were, because no one else used them.

It's interesting that despite nearly all the world being metric, wheels have stayed imperial, fortunately I guess as I can still get cheap tyres for my 50s car! they'd cost an arm and a leg if everyone had gone metric!

I had an MG Montego that had metric wheels, only available from Dunlop or Michelin (cant remember which) and they were £130 each in 1988, after i wore the first set I wasn't so keen to show off doing burnouts (I was only 17 at the time)

That model was too late to have the metric wheels.

They had 185-55-13 tyres, mega low profile for the time!

I always wanted some tyres in that size for Polo Coupe

You were thinking of the MG Metro, which came with pepper pots.
