Endless scams in the Ebay classics

I know it's nothing new but it's getting worse. Loads of classic cars on Ebay listed as classified ads all 1/3rd to half of regular price and all with some random email contact. Even when reported they reappear a day or so later with a different contact address.

I was going to start the same topic. For ages there has been the odd would-be scammer prick, but now there seem to be a few at any one time. It pees me off so much that I thought of a way of avoiding them: changing the buying format to Auction or Best Offer gets them out of the way when I search.
I have found it fun waste their time by asking these tts when I can view 'X' vehicle, but they never seem to be available. How odd...

What do they gain by doing this?

People wanting a bargain and sending a deposit until they can view/collect.

I advertised my M3 as an April fools joke a few years back on another forum, usual must sell, need cash asap.

Could have probably cleared £10k in deposits in a couple of hours.


Even had "I know it is April fools day, but if it isn't a joke can I send a deposit and collect at the weekend?"
