Is nearly £20,000 a new auction record for a Honda CRX VTEC?

The upward march of the modern classic continues with frenzied bidding for a 15,000 mile like new standard Honda CRX VTEC at ACA today. one owner from new until about 6 years ago when it was bought and stored by a garage, It looked like a new car. As a thread I read recently said "the latest and best mod is stock" and with so few of these cars still standard because of the Fast and Furious fans It is becoming true.
The estimate was £8k to £10k but with higher mileage cars going for that sort of money recently this would have been cheap at that. After all, when will you next see a 15k miles unmoded CRX VTEC? probably not for another decade.
Bidding started at £8k and quickly doubled until it went for £19,610 including buyers fee. Even the auctioneer just said "Wow" at the end. Will be interesting to see if it pops up at a dealer soon for £30k!

Probably the only one surviving in that condition - looks lovely!
Any other high prices in the auction - or were the bidders keeping their hands in their pockets on the other lots?

I suspect it will remain in a garage at that price too.

Any low mileage 80s-90s car seems to be worth go for big money these days, especially the top end of any model.

Had exactly the same exampled crx for sale with 17k miles around ten years ago that I sold for £6k. Great as it was, it was not as good as the Integra or accord type R by a long margin. It was cheaper to run though on fuel and insurance, and if I could find another I would add one in a heartbeat to my current line up.
