New old car

Some may recall that I tried out a 1960's classic car in favour of my usual pre 1930's fare.
Didn't work out for me and sold the classic recently. Found a Humber 14/40 saloon of 1928 vintage for sale and that is the car that I am buying.
The Humber has just two owners on the log book, the first from 1928 - 1958 and the second owner, from whom I am buying, 1958 to date.
Come Wednesday I collect the car and will take a few images to post up. Can't wait to get behind the wheel of some 'proper old iron' again

You just didn't take to the Amazon, shame, think they are probably a good old modern classic. Often wondered about one but I seem to be stuck with the 940 Series Estates.
Two owners since 1928 must be something of a record.

Do give the Amazon a go, they're cracking old things especially in 2 door coupe form. I picked up this one a couple of weeks ago and am having much fun blatting around using all 75 horses...and the full length webasto makes for very charismatic motoring.

Thanks Luke, yes, she really is a fun place to be. Crazily, the car came with a pile of small parts missing...engine bay rubbers and grommets, door seals et al, and a small list of faults needing to be completed to bring the old girl back together...so have been having much fun fitting and tinkering. Last w/e de-installed very tired brake lines and exhaust, and properly Renovo'd the webasto. Today fitting new tyres, engine grommets, rear axle straps, properly tidy up the electrical wiring +++ and t'row off to pick up a st/st exhaust. I love this part of buying a new classic and getting to know the car...worts and all.

Apologies if sending thread o/t. Understand if the Amazon's too modern...they do drive very well for a late 50's car. Look forward to seeing the old iron photo's.

Had an 1800S years ago and it's the only car I've ever regretted selling.

Just to clarify... He did by a 2 door GT Amazon, didn't take to it, so went back to vintage.
