I am searching for a Company that is able to refurb' my carb' . It is a cox atmos so one of the more unusual makes, it requires some new or remade parts as well as complete overhaul.
I have emailed Gowerlee, Burlens and carbex and await thier responses, in meantime Ny others please. As always thank you for any leads/links.

I've dealt with David Lonsdale in the past. He built up the SU HD8s for my XK150 but I think he does other types too.

David Lonsdale Classic Carburetters Cirencester
I'll see if I can find more info on him later. You might find stuff about him search PH.

Thanks for info' I have had two replies to my enquiries I made both unable to assist, I do not hold out much hope for the third and last enquiry.

I believe these carbs were fitted to many British motorcycles of the period i.e. Norton , Ariel etc
Maybe worth searching the vintage bike restoration scene?

Yes, pick up a copy of Classic Bike or try and get a copy of Old Bike Mart for the ads. Or even try and get along to one of the bigger vintage bike autojumbles as many of the small specialists often stall at these.

Thanks, yes I will pick up a copy. Heard from the last carb' refurbishment company today and they say sorry can't help. Simply no technical info or parts for is make of carb'.
The Humber Register got back to me (great helpful club) they tell me they are in discussion with the Grandson of Mr Cox and are hopeful we may have some spare parts soon.

Might be worth a call to Burlen Fuels. They do SU and Amal, and if they can't help might know who can.

Thank you for suggestion, already tried Burlen and they are unable to help unfortunately. If the Humber Register are unable to assist, although they are trying, then it looks like I will have to swop the cox atmos for an SU perhaps. Although which model would be suited I have no idea at this stage.

Send me a couple of photos of the carb from different angles and I'll let you know if I can refurb it.

WoW, thanks jith, I will get some photo's off today. My Humber is the 14/40 model but of course principles of the carb are the same I guess.

sorry the images are upside down, thanks to apple apparently.
The biggest problem is that zero spares are currently available for this make of carb, the club is currently addressing this issue.
