Vintage car identification

Can anyone identify this vintage (pre-war?) car?. Looks like a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, but the grill looks slightly different from the one used on that model (from what I can tell anyway). According to the dvla, the reg number comes up as being on a Landrover. The pic is from a vintage rally back in 1991:

I think that's a Crossley. The badge is similar to a Maltese Cross. Couldn't tell you what model it is, but I'd estimate the date as 1912/14.

PS probably a 12/14hp. The other model at that time was the 25/30hp and this car looks too small. The 25/30 is best known for being the basis of the famous RFC tender from WW1.

I've heard of Crossley's, but never knew they were around as far back as the 1900s.

I wonder where it is now considering the reg no. is no longer assigned to that car.

I had a feeling it was owned by Clive Unsworth. He owned a number (not sure how many) of vintage cars during that time period, often bringing them along to local steam festivals and other events. No idea what the other motors were, though I did hear that one was a Pierce-Arrow. He certainly wasn't short on garage space for these motors as he had a large garage that could store about 6 cars, including his Ecurie Ecosse short nosed D-Type (yes the real McCoy) in. Wish we all had garages like tha to house our beloved classics
