That's got me stumped for the moment. It looks like a period car, and not a replica - the plates are silve-on-black anyway. I thought it might be a Connaught but the rear lights are wrong. Definitely not an Aston Martin, or a Kieft. Can't recall any Cooper-Bristol with headrest. It might be a Tojeiro of some sort, but the Cavendish Morton-designed bodies were much higher at the back.

This is annoying me already.........

Apparently a G suffix so I reckon a replica.

Good call - probably a Beetle based kit - several are available.
If it has used the floorpan, engine, gearbox, front axle and steering from the donor car then it would retain the donor car numberplate (?)

Is it not one of those Herald/Spitfire based kits, can't remember the name.

Sammio. That's what I thought too, but it's the wrong shape.

Looks the right shape to be a Sammio to me. What makes you think it isn't?

The lights aren't right (although could be changed if it's a kit) but also the rear buttresses (?) look different, the spotted car's end on a distinct bulge whereas the Sammio pics blend around into the rear panel.

Good points, I considered the kit lights would make sense but looking again I can't consolidate the smoothness.

yes Agreed.

The lights on the back of the Sammio can go anywhere as there are no holes in the moulding.
