cannyone identify this car and estimate how much its worth

A mate often passes this car that looks abandoned , can anyone identify it and give an idea of its value?

This is an early postwar Armstrong Siddeley, probably a Whitley, but possibly a Lancaster. As to value, I've no idea, if restored it will probably be less than the cost of restoration, but it would be a shame for a rare and still desirable car like that to rot away further for purely financial reasons.

It is likely to be prior to 1950 and likely got the semaphore type indicators

Is the rear number plate still on it?

It's an Armstrong Siddeley though I'm unsure of the exact model.

Yes a rare car but hardly a sought-after classic so any restoration would have to be for personal satisfaction rather than for profit. Presumably whoever left it there thought so too!

In the condition shown in the photo it's got to be less than £1000, probably much less depending on how extensive any rust is.

Little more than scrap value - it's not valuable or desirable as such. The owner is probably 'going to do it up one day' etc.
