What car is this?

Turning out the loft recently we came across this among my wife's photos. She doesn't remember the photo, the date, the event, the venue or the car. I posted the pic in the 'Period' Classics Pictures thread and we only managed to establish the venue is Beaulieu and the bubble car is an Isetta. But what is the main car? Any ideas? It's elaborate for a special but if those are Borranis it's a serious piece of kit.

Forgot to say, the photo has 10/84 printed on the back suggesting the event was October 1984. Yes, it could be a reprint but as Mrs C doesn't remember it at all I think that's unlikely.

It's red. It's also not a three wheeler. Elimination! There's the key.

It has drum brakes at the rear.

It had to be pointed out to me that the venue was Beaulieu.

With wire wheels, drum brakes (at least at the back) and the split screen I wonder if it's a special bodied XK120 or XK140.

It looks like it's sporting a windscreen from a Jaguar XK120

Yes, yes, but what are the cars either side? Is the one whose nose you can see just to the left of the Isetta a Ford Consul? And is the one whose nose you can just discern to the right of it a Bamford & Martin Aston?

I was going to suggest Italian due to being red but couldn't back that up with anything concrete.

My Frogeye was red and it was built in Abingdon. Again, nothing concrete. It was a tree what did for it.

I agree with you.
Wings front & rear, doors, top of dashboard all look substantially different.
Of course, with older, low volume or coachbuilt cars there can be a lot of variation between cars.
