I too haven't been in years, but next Saturday am going with some local enthusiasts to see "in the metal" the new TVR Griffith.
I know it is a comparatively trivial thing but I used to begrudge paying the extortionate parking fee, so we are going by train this time.
Have to say though that if the new Griffith wasn't there, I don't know that I would be going.

My favourite show of the year .
We’re going Friday and although last year was a bit samey I and I said I’ll muss this year, I’ll be there again
there’s always something new somewhere.
I don’t mind the parking charge. Every where we go you have to pay to park and we also go to see a lot of bands at the nec and so were used to paying.

A mate will be having his SD1 on the club stand again this year and has kindly given me his '+ 1' passes, so I'll be going along on Thursday for set up day plus Friday and maybe Sunday as well. Gives me a chance to have a proper look round everything and do the autojumble.
Always enjoyed it, whether it's just one day or occasionally all three, I've missed no end of shows this year due to work, so don't want to miss this one. It can be tiresome but I feel it's worth it, especially as it's fairly local.

I'm giving it a miss, just as I have for the past seven or so years. There's nothing that I might need to buy that I can't purchase more easily and cheaply elsewhere. As for the displays, I'd rather see cars doing what they're built to do rather than see them under the NEC's abysmal lightning.

I often go, and will always go on Friday because I feel it's a bit quieter and more manageable. Not going this year because I have another thing I'm going to on Friday, and wouldn't want to do Sat/Sun instead.
I don't mind giving it a miss every now and then, it does often feel like you saw much of the same stuff before. I also think the pricing (especially with parking) is a little excessive.

Im only going as i have a free ticket,not been for years.I do think its a bit of a rip off at the prices they charge and will be taking a pact lunch,plus adding in travel and parking it gets a bit expensive to look at other peoples cars which i can do at my local classic car events.Just hope the trade stands are good...
Tbh, I always get the impression a lot of the classic car visitors don’t get out much and so aren’t used to paying the going rate for parking and food.
It always takes me the best part of the day to look around and I always seem to see something new or miss something altogether which I only find out about later.
The nearest for enjoyment l go to, takes only a couple of hours to look around (quicker if it’s raining) and is cheaper but I always end up buying a burger.

Friday is dearer to help keep the numbers down, as I understand it. Discount codes don't apply on that day either.
Food sounds dear - I usually go to one of the many stands within the show rather than the official NEC food outlets and it doesn't seem any more expensive than anywhere else.
I don't like the parking charge, but if I parked in an NCP in the centre of Manchester for the same time I'll be at the NEC this weekend, it'd be far more than £12. We try to get a car-full so it shares the cost quite nicely.

I go because it's a nice blokey day out with friends, look at some nice cars, chat to interesting people, overall a decent day out.
Everybody moans about the parking but it's not compulsory as the trains are regular, regardless the cost is comparable with parking in most towns around the country. Costs of food is high once inside but again that's no secret so take a packed lunch.

Blimey, you lot moaning about car parking.....I am flying over from the USA to go to the show....

Nothing like it here in the US. Yes, perhaps its a bit samey, but the classic car hobby is changing from the usual Triumphs and MG's to "newer" stuff those of us in our 40's grew up with and started driving it, so there are different cars to see.
I am getting a red eye flight into Heathrow on Friday morning and driving straight to the show for Friday and Saturday.
Its also good to meet up with folks from the forums and Facebook car pages I am on if the chance arises.
Yes, the lighting is awful too for good photos, but hey, take it as a challenge to take a good pic!

I don't think I have been this century and don't see me going again really. Jaguar aren't there because they were really miffed with the administration last year and tell me they won't be going again, and whereas the used spares were interesting in the past, and here were bargains to be had, NOS has disappeared and everything is from Asia now and of dubious quality.
And whereas one person has commented on the cars of his youth now being on show, I am over 70 and am not that interested in the cars my children grew up with. Tempus fugit I guess.

I will be there exhibiting my car on the Scirocco register stand. I have only missed one show in ten years.
I find by Sunday I'm exhausted!
All moaners are about I see Nobody complaining about the price of a cup of tea yet?
I can honestly say, it takes a lot of commitment, From exhibitors, I personally have 160 mile journey, then the expense of 3 nights in a hotel.
In the 3 days i'm there every time I go for a mooch around i find something different
I find by Sunday I'm exhausted!
