I think the Sold price includes Buyer fee (12.5%)
so Porsche 911 Turbo was £82,125 / 1.125 = £73000 hammer price
guide then says "Buyer's premium is subject to VAT" so not quite sure how that works ?
You have to pay VAT on the 12.5% buyers premium not on the hammer price. So if you bought the car for £10k you'd have the buyers premium of £1250 plus the VAT on that at 20% which is £250. Your total price would be £11500. so Porsche 911 Turbo was £82,125 / 1.125 = £73000 hammer price

Yep, until the white unregistered one with only test miles on it ever comes up for sale.A known Chap has both a Moonstone and white with less miles, and also a 3dr with I think around 400 miles from new.
I could have bought a one owner example in white with less miles than the auction one back in 2005 for £16k! I hesistated for a few days and it was gone.....
Did manage to buy number 499 after that, which then had to go post divorce.
The hunt for number 500 stil goes on.
I really fancied the XK140DHC, the estimates were much lower than I'd have expected and if I'd had more notice I might well have bid for it. The price it achieved was much more inline with what I'd have expected though and there's no way SWMBO would have been happy if I'd tried chase the bidding up there.
I have always wondered why mass prodiuced stuf like Ford, MG and Jaguar fetches such silly prices
You look at that auction and anything E Type is silly money, and all those crazy Fords, even RS Turbo's! Fair enough an RS500 you can see it, hardly any made, most of them raced and now wrecked, nearly all modded.
But 100 grand for a Sierra!! 40 odd for a n Escort!!
Just shows that you have to be a bit blinded to buy stuff at auctions at times!!

Droop not RS2000 for 97k Jesus Christ
Some lovelt 911's on there for 30 or less, a lovely 944 S2.
But some of the overpriced Ford crap on there is ridiculous.
Interesting auction though.
