Help me with title and author of this motoring book

This is driving me mad and is beyond Google.

What is the name of the book and who is the author. The book is about the life and stories of a very well-known guy who tracked down and bought many interesting cars around the world, including Mercedes GP cars and including Eastern Europe and South America.

The author is very well known in car circles, and I found the book on Amazon, but I can't remembe the name of the author or the title of the book, so I am stuck.

Any ideas?

It is really obvious, but I can't figure it out.

Funnily enough have just finished reading the book just this week. What an amazing chap and what a fabulous collection of cars he's owned / driven / found - a life well lived so far
