Requirements for Importing a Dutch classic (1983)
Discussion
I’m currently serving in The Netherlands but will return to the uk in April and I want to bring back my daily classic. Ok so it’s not exactly a ‘traditional’ classic but it’s mine and I love it. It’s a 1983 Gen 2 Honda Civic, 1300cc, hondamatic.
I know I need a rear fog light fitting but do I need a mph speedo? Would a sticker be okay? Would i need new lights or are deflectors be okay?
Is there anything else I need to consider before binging her to the uk?

All you need to do is MOT it.
Mr MOT will want the foglight either paired, centreline, or RH only. He will want LH dip or flat dip headlights - stickers are OK. He will not care one jot about the speedo calibration.
NOVA from HMRC within 14 days of arrival (no tax or duty to pay, assuming it's on NL plates), insure, MOT, V55/5 from DVLA, pay reg fee and tax, wait, fit plates, drive.
