I remember using the same techniques last year in a thunderstorm in the TR3a.............surprising how quickly you forget the lack of grip on skinny tyres!

Love the model cars that are used on the table to demonstrate opposite lock.

Its amazing to watch at how low the speed is the grip is lost.

Reminds me of the old Blackburn Skidpan. That was smooth tarmac with built in water jets to keep it wet, unlike the poor erk with a hose!
It had two well used cars, with purposely bald tyres, pumped up to 60psi, and was run by Lancashire CC's Road Safety Committee, that must have subsidised it heavily as an evening's instruction for a group, with two instructors, use of the cars and facilities was about a fiver in the Eighties.

But vandals broke in, repeatedly, smashed up the cars and the buildings, and LCC pulled the plug. Pity, as it was a real contribution to road safety, for those who could be bothered to go and learn.

I did mine on the police skid pan at Tempsford in Bedfordshire through a trafpol mate , the facility is sadly long gone .
It was great fun .

The model cars are by Schuco. You can still buy them brand new, lovely (but expensive) things.

I've got two that the kids race and smash into skirting boards.
