Classic Maserati Steering Column

I've been getting to the bottom of my Indy's electrical gremlins and the next one on the list is the intermittent headlights, and broken indicator stalk. So tonight I took the steering column off and got to the electrical hub thingy (not sure what they are properly called). Anyway, looks like the indicator stalk is buggered and the headlight one is dodgy so I'm looking for a replacement. An original one I wold imagine is difficult/pricey to source so I am looking for alternatives. Below are a few pics - were there any 'common' ones from the 70s that were used and interchangable, or are there replacemnt bits which can be screwed on? I'm not fussed with originality as long as it works - any suggestions welcomed.

I had the same failure on my 68 Mexico.

If you speak to McGrath Maserati they will be able to supply a replacement which fits and works but isn't a direct replacement visually. The replacement I got was a Lucas stalk and needed a little modification to fit, and (helpfully....) some of the wiring was slightly different colours but once fitted, it cured the problem with the lights and still had the 'town' horn function and confusing light switching.

To make it look a little more authentic I sanded off the rather modern looking symbols on the stalk and polished it back to gloss black.

Surely this is not going to be a unique to Maserati item, much more likely to be some standard part made by Magnetti Marelli and sold to Fiat, Polski Fiat, Lancia, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Iso, Lamborghini et al. A bit of digging might be in order!

It does look a little alike the one on my 400 but I seem to recall this is all part of one assembly casing around the steering column but the stalk is very similar

The one on my 68 Mexico was a Lucas part, you would have thought they would be shared with other cars but that wasn't the case. It turned out to be a fairly unique stalk, so whilst there were others available which operated the same way, there were none that had the exact same stalk and fixing combination. The Indy may be different again as they were assembled at Maserati and the Mexico at Vignale.
