A friend of mine in the US recently picked up a 70's vintage VW Beetle and needs to source some parts such as rear bumper brackets and tail lights. To my surprise he mentioned he is having difficulty located parts like this in the US?

Can anyone recommend a UK/Euro source for classic beetle parts that I can recommend?

Have you tried vw heritage or just kampers?

I know vw heritage sells quite a bit on eBay uk which works out cheaper overall when considering postage delivery etc

Would your US based friend have any luck searching for parts south of the wall in Mexico?

Those rear lights are colloquially known as "elephant's feet". 1973-on version.

eBay USA seems to have a few... https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?__isEmpty=&_fr...

Cheers all and I will pass the recommendation on. Neither he nor I are into Beetles so the knowledge is not good over here (though I do have a type 2 '73 camper in a garage somewhere wink ).
