Replacing XJ6 Series 3 rear hub water throwers

Has anyone out there ever changed the rear hub water throwers on their XJ6 S3? I am refurbishing the IRS, including the rear hubs, but the old ones have been totally destroyed by the rust worm. I have bought new ones, but these seem to be a "heat and interference" fit, as they are a smidgen too small when cold. But how hot is hot enough? Should I stick them in the oven or have at them with a blowtorch?
