Italian Ignition Switch

The ignition switch on my '63 Fiat Cabriolet has failed. I can't see an obvious way of removing the assembly from the surround and nor can I see anything listed that matches this part. I know that Mar and AVV translate as on and start, it looks like the make is SIPED or SPED or some such combination, does anybody recognise this?

It's probably fitted with a snap bolt
IE when tightened up the head snaps off so it's no obvious at all
The only way to get it out is to locate it then try to turn it with a sharp pointed small chisel
At least that was what I had to do on my old Alfa

I just figured out the brand marking, SIPEA.

I have been Googling images and it looks like the face of the lock has a surround, I tried twisting this thinking it might unscrew from the face but no joy, I thought perhaps with this off the barrel might slide out of the housing. I can't see any fixings and of course it is not helped by the fact that I need to be upside down in the footwell!

When I was doing my Maserati, I found Italian Ebay was a decent place to search for obscure parts. Pop what you're looking for into Google Translate then post it on Italian ebay. This may not be the right part, but it may be a good starting point:-

typically these types of fittings are attached to the steering column, which looks to be the case here too. It looks like you will have to remove the dash trim around it to get at the bracket that attaches it to the column, as said above probably by a snap off bolt.
