Herald 13/60 ign switch wiring - anyone ??
Discussion
Hi chaps,
Last week bought a herald 13/60 without keys, it’s been standing many years so I installled a new ign switch & starter solenoid, however nothing when I try to turn it over, if I jump the starter solinoid then she’ll turn.... can anyone confirm the sequence of the wires on the ign switch pls ? Once I know that’s ok ill need to,check for damaged wires,. I’m guessing this is the reason the P.O. stopped using the old girl...
Amazing the car only has one fuse...
Many thanks Matt

Google gives a wiring diagram. http://herald-tips-tricks.wikidot.com/electricals:...
Also, check the earth cables, you might have the live side right but missing/poor engine earth strap connection.

If its a 3 position Lucas switch should be wired like this:
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=lucas+ignition+s...
With position 3 being the live 12v, 2 being all dash lights, coil and anything else you want on to be live when the ignition is on (radio maybe), and 1 being the starter motor/solenoid. Position 1 then springs back to 2 once started. I've got a Lucas 47SA on both the Land Rover and Moggy.
