A rather sorry looking Escort, is that really going to sell within its estimate of $150,000 - $300,000?

If you want an Escort once owned by a pope, there aren't many around, but if I was spending that sort of money to spend on a car I can think of lots of others I'd have instead.

Gives opportunity for some tabloid headlines though!

Estimate likely based on the fact that there are plenty of wealthy catholic septics around that will spunk money on anything related to the Pope.....the fact that it's a grubby old four door Ford Escort worth about 500 quid is immaterial to the fact.
Now if it was a 2-door, it'd at least make a good donor car for a Gp.4 Escort historic rally car, so would at least be worth about 10k biggrin

I wouldn't have thought senior Catholic clergy and Escorts were that much of a rarity, or are altar boys so readily available?

It doesn't look as if it's been abused. Are we sure it's been owned by a senior catholic?
