Or Caravelle ,never sure of the difference.
1970, I'd just passed my "test" at the age of 17 (BSM Avenger after starting in a BSM Minx/Hunter).Dad had word from a work colleague that they had a Renault Floride (or was it a Caravelle) for sale so we went to view it.
Sat covered in dust with a dent in the front panel (this was a rear engined car with a pointy front panel but the dent rather spoiled that).
Not sure I was impressed or not but as a novice I let him decide that it wasn't worth having. Often thought what might have been if we 'd bought it.
As an aside, Dad had a Series iv Minx but his previous car was a 100E Pop which was offered to me free but I didn't want it as my real desire was a "Frogeye" Sprite. He was most upset that I didn't want the Ford. After over two years of looking for a Mk 1 Sprite I settled instead on a Mk 2 Midget. (1098cc reg: FJR 494C) which turned out to be another POS in reality with a fibreglassed over floorpan!
ps do BSM still exist? (British School of Motoring).
