Looks a bit home made but there's a bit of Renault 17 to the lines (absent front quaterlight and angle of rear tail light section counts against it but the headrests looks the same....)

Rear lights and side window openings look a bit De Tomaso-y. Not sure about the raised lip at the leading edge of the roof though?
Are the rear and side windows perspex on this one ( race car maybe? ) or does it just look like that because the trims have been removed?
ETA - looked at it a bit longer, is it late 70s, early 80s Japanese? Is there some extended wheel arch action visible just in front of the Rover headlight?

It does look a bit specialised / home made - I wondered about a few things while I was there, but now I've seen the image on a proper sized screen instead of the camera LCD, none of them fit. I think they are Perspex windows to the rear and rear quarter. Isn't the gap between the rear quarter and the door window because the window is a little bit open? Seems to be a bit of a gap along the top too.
I was hoping it's something fairly well-known to those in racing / specials circles, but it seems not. I wondered about a Ginetta of some sort, but I couldn't find anything like that on Google images, though that is by no means conclusive.

Something very similar to this (same back end and colour) appeared in one of my Facebook classics for sale groups earlier this week. Annoyingly, I can't find the ad any more. It was a UK group, but I'm sure the car I saw advertised was American.
The name Dodge Duster popped into my head, but I've googled and it's nothing like it. I've tried googling "dodge" and "duster" separately, without success. Maybe someone with better google skills can find it.
