Anybody showing or going?

I’m going on Friday, not been for a few years so looking forward to it. Getting a bit pricey though at £33 entry and £16 to park the car. winds out at £100 for the day minimum. Hope it’s a good show!

Likewise, I've not been for a couple of years but when I do go I always enjoy it. As said, £33 plus parking is a bit pricey and frankly booking in advance saves about 55p once they've added on a 'transaction charge' whatever that is!

I sometimes park a few stations away and train in the last few stops, probably just was quick and easy as slogging in the queues to get into the NEC car parks. The only thing putting me off is that I have moved to North/East Hampshire so it's a 2 hour drive for me...

Parking at a station one or two away is the way to do it. Avoids the expensive car parks and the slow traffic when you want to leave.

Yep, I'm heading down with a couple of mates on Saturday. Early start from Newcastle and very much looking forward to it.

Oh and just to avoid the usual negative comments, you are allowed to take your own packed lunch and pop, and nobody is forced to pay the usual extortionate prices in the NEC cafe..... and £26.50 entry is still good enough value to justify the trip IMHO.

I usually get a pasty and a couple of cups of coffee and don't mind the prices of the food from the stalls.

I usually take food but buy beer, so not far off £100 for the day at £5 ish a pint. Lucky enough that my parents live near the Swan so can get 1 bus back.

Bought advance tickets for a mate and I to go on Sunday, sometimes we park at Canley station and catch the stopper to International but this year I'll be driving to Brum and parking at the station, luckily my mate has a Network Rail pass for a separate compound close by. A lot of people moan about the show but even at current ticket prices it's still great value for the sheer number and variety of cars on show. The trade and autojumble stands will get a good old shuftie, I usually spend a fair bit on car books and it's the ideal chance to have a proper look at the larger garage equipment on sale like ramps, lifts, dollies etc.

Food is certainly expensive, but trudging round all day you'll need something to keep you going.

Canley near Coventry is free but a bit cramped, the car park is just across the road from the station

I'm giving it a miss this year. I get in for free anyway but I CBA, and other things need doing. It'll all be there next year.

I haven't been for about five years. I don't feel I'm missing much as every time I did go it seemed much the same as the previous year; perhaps I'm just hard to please.

I'm going on Saturday, advance discounted tickets are a bit dearer than last year but not that much.

Are you selling the Magnette to help fund the trip?

Yup, the Magnette is for sale.I found towing my vintage caravan with it was just a little too much. Magnette is a great classic to drive and I will be sorry to see it go, however I have decided to go for a classic camper van to show at local steam rallies and bed down in. Hope to buy a VW T2 Jurgens Autovilla very soon.

Park at Birmingham International station for £8 then walk through the tunnel straight into the NEC
