Thought I should post this shot of today's VSCC Lakeland Trial in this sub forum rather than in a motor sport one as it's not about Jason Plato or Lewis Hamilton.
Anyway - lovely cars (don't ask me what it is as I am shaky on pre War stuff) , bonkers owners (in a good way) and simply wonderful scenery .

The VSCC website may help - although some of it is members only . Also look at the sporting trials section of BTRDA website. Then go on booking.com for B and B in Keswick next November - you ought to see this live, not on TV .
The Lakeland trial is held on the very steep track leading up from the Honister slate mine - there are other stages but without public access ,
You won't find friendlier people , quirkier cars , better scenery nor better access at any other motoring event .

The Exeter and Lands End are I think MCC events. Most of the trials are in the hilly wet west, the next VSCC event is next weekend with a few Public stages at Prescott (near Cheltenham, Glos). In the new year there are driving test (Autosolo) at Brooklands, I think the similar Bicester event (nee Enstone/Westcott) is members only. There is also a long weekend planned at Brands next year. Next year's programme is still subject to change, sometimes it has to ripple down from the F1 programme. (the historic racers can then sort out their programme and everything else slots in.)Does anyone know if any events happen a bit closer to home for myself - Kent?

I can confirm that in 36 years as a marshall the most enjoyable meetings were always historic events . It taught me very early in my motorsport journey that sprints , hillclimbs and trials were great fun for all involved .
Involved is what you end up being , they seem to draw you in and everyone helps to keep the cars going .

There are a few Austin 7 trials in Kent / Sussex / Surrey over the winter months. Next is at Tulley's Farm, Crawley on the 29th December.
Not as long sections, but much tighter and more technical, great fun.
