This 'Austin (MAESTRO) Cooper S' is a treasure trove of questionable taste (IMO) biggrin

Loving the Starsky & Hutch stripes and the parcel-shelf-mounted fog lamps (with holes in rear window tint film).

The engine bay has some rather interesting additions... I wonder why it needs 2 batteries?

That's really odd. I'm inclined to say that the number plate and the cooper script on the dash (if original 60s mini not repro) are the most valuable bits there. How it got registered like that is a mystery.

I like Maestros, but I don't like that. R series engine too, bloody awful lump, S series that replaced it was lovely. I think this car probably started life as a Vanden Plas in Oporto red, I ran one as a demonstrator (in fact I ran two, the first one was R series, the second one was S series, same model and colour though).

Capitals, punctuation, spelling (igzact). Mmmmm... Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Looks as if the positive terminal of one battery is connected, and the negative terminal of the other one.

Interesting wiring!

I was just laughing myself silly seeing this on ebay - must post it up on here... ah, I should have known I'd be too late!

How tf did he get the log book registered like that? Always said DVLA are stupid.

I suppose to the right person that plate is worth a few bob.
Similar plates, ASV and 3 figs range from a £1k to 2k, nearest to this one is ASV 140, is currently £1,945 from RegTransfers.

Coopers S Type. hehe

He missed the apostrophe out of Cooper's.
Unsurprisingly!

Still has a Pirelli P6 on the rear, and a car phone in the front.

That's a barried Maestro VDP that's been rung onto an old Mini Cooper S V5C to add some kind of retrospective provenance.

Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole for all of the reasons above

DVLA says

Make - AUSTIN COOPER S TYPE

Colour - WHITE

Hhhmmm!, I suppose bits of it are white and bits are Austin!

Its up to £800
The mileage haven’t changed in years but advisories state the tyres worn different each year, stay away from it, I would say.
I think he’s had too much time on his hands, ram raided a scrap yard & a boy racer motorfactors
