Auto Express magazine started in 1988, so the S-Type and X-Type were both nearing production at that time and probably past the 'secret' stage.

My best guess would be the earliest F-Type concept, which, IIRC, was being bandied about at that time.

Whoops! Just realised I'm out by a decade there! S- and X- would be nearing production in 98, not 88...
