I'd love to know what they're asking for the Geneva E-Type.

Wonderful selection.

I'm a bit of, ok a complete Jagnut; partly a generation thing, but also they've always been kind to me.

A couple of conversions, built many years ago, which may not please the purists, but did what I wanted at the time:

Modified road going 3.8 (bored to 4.0) E-Type. It still exists according to the DVLA site.

Chassis of Falcon bodied E-Type special.

XJ Coupe convertible.

Not one of mine; this 4.0 supercharged Mk2 was done by Neil Blaxill, very, very well.

I thought not, given the thread title: "Some interesting Jaguars", in Yesterday's Heroes.

Might have helped to have actually bother to read the original post and the link contained, rather than just the thread title before immediately sending it off-thread rolleyes

Off thread or not, I'd very much like to learn some more about the supercharged Mk2.

It's quite a well known car in Jag circles, built by Neil Blaxill; essentially a Mk2 superstructure grafted onto a shortened X308 XJR floorpan. It's extremely well executed and Niel drives all over the place in it towing a caravan, when he's not sprinting.

The last of several which I converted during the 1980s, easily the best having found the best way to stiffen the shell and make the top fold down nicely. Converted from cars which would otherwise have been lost causes.

Interesting, thanks, & well saved - wondering how did you resolve the folded top? The Avon conversions look a bit clumsy to me, but difficult to engineer it differently, I imagine.

Thanks. I tried various systems, including a folding hardtop, finally settling on a simple single fabric layer manual softop, which used the upper seatbelt mountings as the main pivot point. Even though I say so myself, it looked much neater than the Avon and Lynx conversions, top up or down, and the shell was much stiffer than either.

Apologies for the rubbish quality; it's a phone photo of a photo taken C1992.

Have to say that roof conversion has just gone right up in my estimation having seen it folded. Much better than Avon, who can be...how can I say it...a bit agricultural.
