Does anyone have experience of using Ethanol/Moisture inhibitors in their fuel for their classics ? Came to start mine two days ago and failed miserably. Has always been a good starter, but looks like the petrol left in the tank has done it's best to gunge up my carbs.

Little job tonight to clean everything up, drain the tank and replace with some Esso 97, which is Ethanol free (according to Esso's web site).

Just wondering if any of the treatments (www.millersoils-shop.co.uk) you can buy are a better solution, or to just stick to Esso 97, and drive it more often :-)

Yes, drive the bloody thing more often, and only use Super (but not supermarket Super)
Modern fuels can go-off very quickly, and cause potential starting issues if not used for as little as 6-8 weeks in some cases.

I'm surprised that Esso claim ethanol free as by the nature of fuel distribution in the UK, it was impossible to claim ethanol-free due to cross contamination at source.
What they mean is they don't specifically add ethanol to their Super.

Correct on both counts, I need to drive it more.....and Esso do say they don't specifically add it.
