Could anyone identify this BMC bonnet hinge please?

Tried putting the part number into Google, but no luck. Thanks.

That's the same hinge as my old 53 Allard Palm Beach (doors, bonnet & boot). I imagine used on a huge number of other period British cars too.

Does it sit flat? or is it slightly curved?

Those fitted to the Daimler Dart are curved

I don't think a Daimler one would have been sold in a BL box though.

According to mintybiscuit's link, the part number indicates it's from a Morris Oxford.

Of course! Now I can put it on EBay with the dreaded "vintage" and "rare" description, thus marking it out as pretty much worthless.
