Its a Ford 100E, so can't be earlier than 1953.

And, it looks like its probably taken in the 60's, as that looks like a Cortina Mk1 in front of the 100E.

Agree with the Cortina but is the light car possibly a Standard Ensign or Vanguard? The grille appears to have a curve to it that doesn't seem to suggest 100e. The wheels don't look right either but that might be shadow.

Way later than 46, more like 64. Look at those boys' haircuts.

Definately a 100e and the grille looks like a post '59 Popular to me. I still have one!

What about the van to the right of the old bloke's shoulder? That looks quite a bit later. I think it is a film set-up. In fact I sort of recognise the old fella.

What about the very flat top to the windscreen, the slight turn inwards at the bottom of the grille, and the over-riders? I'm not convinced it a very standard ( small s) Ensign , just suggesting it.

Agree with the filmset theory, the Fat Controller is definitely out of period.

The Popular is a late 50's model and the Cortina is 1962 at the very earliest.

Got to be mid-1960's.
